The original comment plugin for wordpress requires people to be registered within your blog to post comments otherwise, if you allow post from everyone around, you’re going to face a spam bombing problem.
The Disqus plugin allow you to integrate the Disqus comment system that allow everyone with a social account around to post easily in your blog.
Once installed go to www.disqus.com and register an account, when done return to your blog.
On the admin menu choose “Comments > Disqus” to configure it.
You’ll be prompeted to login with your new Disqus account.
If this is the first time you are using Disqus then you’ll be prompeted to create a new configuration for your website. You’ll be redirected again to the Disqus website to perform this task.
To complete the settings page you need to specify your Akismet key to enable anti-spam features.
You also need an API key for Facebook but, luckly, if you don’t have a Facebook application page yet, this plugin will do the tedious job of creating an API key for you .
Once you’re done return again to you blog and choose “Comments > Disqus”, re-enter your account login informations, and now you can finally choose the profile of the website you just created.
Comment sync
Disqus comments are automatically synced with WordPress internal comments. After a comment is posted, approved or delete, it requires a few minutes before it goes online.
Compatibility
When the Maintenance mode is enabled the Diqus plugin will be unable to show comments on the front-end.
